'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Shittu Delighted With Captains Armband

Danny Shittu has revealed he was surprised to be handed the captains armband, as well as talking about the arrival of Mark Beevers.

Speaking to the official site ahead of the Huddersfield game, Shittu said.

'When Kenny told me, I was surprised. At that point I was just getting back into the team and still working on my game. To be told I'd be captain was a true honour. To have a manager who trusts you enough to appoint you to lead the team means so much to me.'

Danny also talked about the arrival of Mark Beevers.

'Everybody knows that when it comes to playing centre back, you have to have a good relationship with your partner. I think it's a testament to Mark's ability that he came in and performed well instantly.'
