'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Prospect Signs On

Schoolboy & Young Player of the Year, Fred Onyedinma, has signed his first professional contract.

Millwall Academy Director Scott Fitzgerald admitted that Millwall had to fight off a number of Premiership and Championship clubs to secure our home grown talent to a contract, and he's delighted we managed to given his progress last season.

Speaking to the official site he said.

'We're delighted that Fred is staying with us and is now progressing into the senior ranks. He has shown great commitment to this club and we have done likewise to him.'

He also said that new manager Steve Lomas had spent time with the youngster and his family last week, despite obviously having a lot on his plate, to demonstrate that the development of young talent at the club was important to him and clearly that must have had some impact on Fred's thinking as he looks to progress further.
