Forde To Celtic Rumbles On

With rumours of goalkeeper David Forde being a target for Celtic in January rumbling on, the player himself says simply he's still under contract.

The suggestion of a move North surfaced recently with claims that Celtic manager Neil Lennon wanted to bring the Republic of Ireland international into Parkhead as a replacement for Fraser Forster.

As for the links himself, he told the Standard that he was very flattered to be linked with a move to a club like Celtic as it was 'amazing' especially as he grew up supporting the Hoops, so it's given him a great lift.

'Steve Lomas has said he wants me to stay, I am under contract and until anything changes I will continue to do my best for Millwall.'

These rumours will only get pacier as we head towards January because the keeper is obviously out of contract in the summer, so even if something doesn't happen in January such as a fee not being agreed, he can sign a pre contract for next summer anyway, so should Celtic come in, the club have an important decision to make.

This is something that John Berylson has already addressed, admitting that talks have been held already about extending his contract, but with the emergence of Celtic into the picture, it does change everything.

Berylson said that he is powerless to stop another club offered David more money than Millwall can, because there is only a certain figure they can offer, and whilst that means he's well paid with us, it wouldn't be a patch on what somebody like Celtic could offer him.

It's going to be a case of wait and see, and hopefully Celtic's interest is press fed and nothing more.
