'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Harris Remains Upbeat

Caretaker boss Neil Harris has said he remains upbeat despite the loss to Leicester today because he felt gutted for the players following their efforts.

Speaking to the official site following the 3-1 defeat today, Harris explained that he could take a ton of positives from the match, not least the attitude and the character the team showed in terms of keeping going despite things not going their way.

'I'm gutted for the boys because they were fantastic today. Scott and I asked for tempo and desire and that was exactly what we got. For the majority of the match we were the better side and our only disappointment was that the final ball was perhaps lacking a little bit.'

Harris adds that having pulled it back to 2-1, the decision was taken to take Abdou off and put Easter on so they could really go for it and he knows four times out of five in a one on one situation it would've gone in for him and then the game would've had a different outlook.

'I thought the referee got two decisions wrong for two goals, looking back now, there are clearly two fouls.'

Had those been given, the result could've definitely been different but unfortunately it's another loss.

Taking a break from league action now for the FA Cup third round game against Southend United this weekend, Harris explained that he was looking forward to it given it's a former side of him, and he feels it'll be a good game for the fans and all he'll be asking the players for is the same kind of commitment and desire that they have shown so far and hopefully we can get back to winning ways, get a confidence boost and kick on from there again picking up the results we want and need.
