Shittu Gutted Not To Win

Centre half Danny Shittu has said that despite the fact Millwall had to come from behind in the game against Bolton, he's really disappointed that we didn't manage to take all three points as he felt it wouldn't been justified given our overall performance.

Speaking to News Shopper Shittu said it was heartening to see us dominate the game, but a failure to take the chances that we did create left everyone disappointed at the final whistle, because he feels it was the best performance of the entire season so far, not just since Ian Holloway came in.

'For us not to have gone and got three points is gutting but we will take the positives.'

Shittu goes on to say that usually this season when we have gone behind in games the team have gone on to lose, so there has to be confidence taken from the fact that we are now slowly getting in the habit of fighting back for a share of the spoils, as we've shown in recent games, but he knows we have to go further and stop conceding the early goal and giving ourselves a mountain to climb, but instead getting our noses in front so we have something to hold on to and then build on, so we start seeing games out more comfortable and with reasonable scorelines.

One win in the last twelve and four points off the drop zone, we definitely need to start turning in some wins now, but at least we've stemmed the losses and are picking up something from games recently.

It's a start.
