'If It's Football, It's Vital'

There Are Positives - Forde

Goalkeeper David Forde has said that Millwall can take the positives from our recent games, despite the results, because he feels that against Brighton especially shows that we are now starting to control games and play well enough to take points, and of course we would've got something from our last encounter had it not been for a very soft penalty decision against Danny Shittu in the first half.

Speaking to the official site following the game and prior to heading off on international duty, Forde says there was a lot to be positive about.

'We have to keep doing the right things and I thought we were the better side again. It's hard when teams come here, score and then sit back. We struggled to break them down.'

Forde goes on to say that Jermaine Easter had a cracking chance but the block was made and it hits the bar, but had that gone in he honestly feels there was only one team likely to go on and win the game and take all three points.

One big positive for the keeper though is that earlier on in the season he feels we may have collapsed had we gone behind that early, and certainly conceded another goal or two in the remainder of the game and in the second half.

With the character and spirit back within the team now though that wasn't going to happen, but the next task is grabbing ourselves a clean sheet so we can nick a match one nil at the other end and hopefully get ourselves on to a roll now.

On a personal level at the recent FAI Senior International Player of the Year award Forde did miss out after having been nominated, and the award went to Robbie Keane.
