We Go To Leeds Looking For A Win

Having dropped into the bottom three, but remaining confident we can avoid relegation, manager Ian Holloway has said there is only one thing on his mind at the moment and that is taking all three points off Leeds United when we play them this weekend.

Following Charlton's midweek victory over Bournemouth we have now dropped into the dropzone and speaking to the official site the gaffer knew he couldn't control other results, but one thing he can make sure of is that we start taking care of our own matches.

'There's only one result I can affect, our own. We will go to Leeds looking for the win that would represent the perfect start to a big week for us.'

Following the trip to Leeds, we then have two home games in quick succession. Birmingham City up first, followed by Blackburn Rovers and whilst the latter is simply an opportunity for points, the Birmingham game with a win could help drag them right back into the mix at the bottom as well and of course the more teams down there with us, the tighter it will be and the more individual points will end up counting.

'There is still plenty that can happen between now and the end of the season. There will be unexpected results, and there are matches to come where teams down the bottom are playing each other. Where we are tells us one thing.'

The gaffer explains that this 'one thing' is quite simply that we need to get ourselves on a winning run of at least two consecutive matches, if not more, and if we can get them this week we have every chance of pulling away from the bottom again and giving ourselves not only a real chance of pushing up the table, but a really good boost of confidence as we head into the final games knowing there are teams below us.
