Holloway - Birmingham Is Now A Must Win

Following on from our defeat to Leeds United today, manager Ian Holloway has said that the Birmingham game is strictly a must win affair for Millwall now.

DJ Campbell's goal inside of the final 20 minutes put a more positive spin on the result you could argue, but equally it was probably the least we deserved given how we ended dominating possession and having created some very good chances, so there's no way Holloway wasn't coming out of the game with frustration and disappointment that we didn't at least take a point.

Speaking to the official site following the match, he said.

'It's a frustrating one for all of us. We started well but then their big lad has just gone and flicked one in. I thought we could've done better with the second goal as well. We created a lovely move on the touchline just in front of me, but should have played a ball over the top because their defence was high. But they won a tackle and somehow McCormack has stuck it in from a tight angle.'

Holloway says he was much more pleased with our second half showing and he can't fault the team for the way they did go at Leeds in search of getting something from the game, but again positives now aren't helping our points total or our league positioning and with nine games left he's getting to the point where he doesn't care how we win as long as we do.

'The Birmingham game is a massive one for us now. We have to try and drag them into it. It's a must win. I've never had a more important game in my life.'
