Striker Gregory Confirmed

Millwall have today confirmed the permanent signing of former Halifax striker Lee Gregory.

He moves to us for an undisclosed fee, speculated to be around the 250,000 mark, and the 25 year old former electrician bagged himself 32 goals from 40 games last season and has been hugely sought after this summer with a number of clubs expressing an interest in securing his services.

The player is manager Ian Holloway's second signing of the summer following on from the earlier capture of Carlos Edwards, and Gregory joins us on a three year deal.

Speaking to the official site our gaffer explained.

'As a player Lee's movement and finishing reminds me of Neil Harris, and if he can enjoy anything like Chopper's success at Millwall, I'll be delighted. I think our fans will take to him and he'll score goals for us next season.'

Gregory himself is confident that he can make the step up to the Championship in 2014-15, but he knows he'll have to undergo somewhat of an adjustment before he finds his feet and starts showing the form that attracted him to Holloway to begin with.

'It's a massive step up, but one that I think I am capable of making and I'll see what happens. I know that Neil Harris and Steve Morison have made a successful transition from non league football and I'm confident that I can do the same.'
