Harris Praises Belief After Reading Win

Harris Praises Belief After Reading Win

Manager Neil Harris has praised the belief Millwall showed in last night's victory over Reading.

Hosting Jaap Stam's side at The Den for the midweek Championship action, Millwall fell behind late on in the second half but a George Saville brace inside of the final ten minutes gave us all three points on the day.

Speaking to the official site as he met with the media following the game, Harris said the victory was down to the 'discipline, patience and shape' the players showed across the game.

The win was our third straight home success as well.

'Football is a crazy game. It looked like a scrappy game that was going to be decided by a set-piece or a moment of quality. I didn't see Reading scoring, I have to be honest. It was a poor goal for us to give away from a corner. However, I thought our discipline, patience and shape was magnificent tonight. You can talk about the character, the desire etc of the group, but I think tonight, the belief is the main one. At this level, against good sides, to come from a goal down is a big ask. I give my players full praise for that because they've built that belief over the last six weeks through their performances.'

With Saville getting the brace on the day, he obviously came in for praise and Harris was delighted to see the side starting to find their feet in the second tier.

'We have plenty of goals from our midfield. Over the last couple of years it has been Shaun Williams, Jed Wallace, Shane Ferguson, Aiden O'Brien, but tonight it was George - he deserved both of his goals. I'm really pleased for him. We're still in that transition period, for me. Barnsley is a big game at the weekend. But, beating Norwich, Leeds and Reading - three big clubs at this level - show we deserve to be here.'
