Webster Blow For Millwall
Millwall's Byron Webster has suffered a serious knee injury and has now undergone surgery on the problem.
On Friday Millwall confirmed that the player had suffered a rupture of his cruciate ligament in his knee, and following surgery which took place on Thursday, the player is now likely out for the remainder of the 2017/18 season as he rehabilitates fully and returns to fitness.
Speaking about the 30 year old to the official site, manager Neil Harris explained that whilst no official time frame had been put on him, it was going to be lengthy.
'This is a major disappointment, first and foremost for Byron, whose form at the start of this season has been outstanding. As well, it is of course a disappointment for the group. However, we will grow stronger because of it. Others will now have to step up in Byron's place and take their opportunity.'
Harris went on to add.
'We don't want to put a definitive timescale on his recovery but it will be long-term. Seeing Byron back before the end of the season would be a huge bonus.'
