Instant Reactions - Burton v Millwall (24/2/18)
Following today's clash between Burton Albion and Millwall, here are the instant reactions from both managers.
Burton Albion hosted Millwall at the Pirelli Stadium for a 3pm kick off on Saturday February 24, with the visitors taking a narrow one nil victory courtesy of a Ben Marshall effort just after the hour mark in the game.
The three points move Millwall into 12th place in the championship tale and they registered their fourth away win on the spin, but the hosts will feel unlucky to not have improved their own position given the chances they had in the opening half in particular.
Bywater, Akins, Naylor, McFadzean, Brayford (McCrory 19), Davenport, Samuelsen (Varney 85), Allen (Boyce 71), Akpan, Dyer, Bent.
Murphy, Buxton, Campbell, Sbarra.
Archer, Romeo, Hutchinson, Cooper, Meredith, Wallace, Williams, Saville, Marshall (Onyedinma 65), Gregory (Shackell 88), Morison (Cahill 79).
McLaughlin, Martin, Tunnicliffe, Elliott.
Speaking to the BBC's cameras a short time after match day referee Robert Jones blew the final whistle, Burton Albion manager Nigel Clough explained.
'Over the course of the game and with the chances we created and the manner of the winning goal, it's a very poor result. Players are human and they miss chances. We had enough chances at Ipswich, here against Forest and today to win all three games. The most disappointing thing today is that we have lost it to a fluke of a goal. I am not quite sure how we have lost.'
Millwall manager Neil Harris in his comparative interview explained.
'We have no fear of the division anymore. Four in a row away from home and anyone that has seen us all season, we could easily have double that on the road. That was probably our worst performance on the road this year, barring Norwich. I certainly felt that Burton should have took something out of the game. I have to give the credit to my players for finding another way of winning a game.'
