'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Powel's Premiership wish

Berry Powel completed his move to The Den and immediately targeted a Premiership promotion challenge.

Powel, 25, cost £125,000 from Dutch club Den Bosch and has agreed a two-and-a-half year contract.

The striker, who watched Saturday's goal-less draw against Wolves, is expected to make his debut at Cardiff next Tuesday.

Despite Millwall's lowly position in the Championship, Powel expects to help save his new side from relegation and then push on towards the top-flight.

Powel said: 'My aim is to help keep us up then push for a place in the Premiership next season.

'It will be very exciting to be playing football in England.

'The audience and the ambience in the stadium on Saturday was great to see and for a player that is the best thing you can hope to play in front of.

'I think we deserved to win against Wolves but you have to get that goal to get the points and I hope I can help with that.

'I hope I can continue to get goals at the rate I have been at Den Bosch.'

Powel has scored 19 goals for Den Bosch this season and was the leading scorer in the division.

He admits he can't wait to make his Lions debut and said:
'I am very much looking forward to playing.

'I am pleased I have a bit of time to settle before we play Cardiff.

'I know I will get plenty of opportunities to score at Millwall.

'Wolves are a top team and if we can match them, there's every chance we will be able to progress further.'
