Am I the only person that thinks for the first time in a long time, we don't actually need any players in January?

We have a good mix of experience and youth, we also have several players returning from injury around Christmas and the cover in most areas is good enough for this division at least.

Sign of a very good squad?

If we can keep what we have now (loans) then we will be in good shape, bringing new faces in to the fold now, I think would only upset the apple cart.

I watched the full match on SheffieLd United's website and I must say the body language between every single Millwall player was plain to see. That bodes well and I also think Harris has created a culture with a small squad that everyone will get game time at some point. Equally fantastic to hear players like Beevers saying he is loving his job at the moment. That all said I still think we are short of three players if the current loans have to return to their parent clubs come January. A left sided midfielder and a gifted midfield general. I also think that unless Pavey or Philpot get some game time soon then we might need another CF. I also have some concerns over the number of cards we are picking up and that could bite us through the Christmas and January period. Burn out for some of these youngsters in particular Fred and Ben Thompson also worries me and with the current injuries limits NH choices of resting players. It would be good to see PCH get back and stay injury free. I reckon we are more likely to sign Ferguson than Saville permanently unless JB is willing to stump up in excess of a million for Saville. All in all I am buzzing how things are going now and would be good to end our league games having won before embarking on two cup games.

To find success or to continue with it clubs need to sign players whilst they are strong, we appear that way at the moment (strong). I would hope that all avenues are being looked at in the market, loans, permanent signings, even players without a club.

We have AOB who should be tried at centre forward.perhaps in the tin pot game?

I agree other than the midfield is where we have lost the players, wait until at least until Williams and Thompson are back and Saville has extended.

Could try it unit4 but i think AOB has more to his game than an out and out striker. I see him as a Sheringham (later in his career) type player, just slotting in between the midfield and striker. Creating and picking up the leftovers.

I think we need a 20 - 25 goal a season striker, we don't have one. Someone to partner Morison as he's great at holding up the ball, winning headers. If we had a clinical striker to play along side him we'd go straight up because the amount of clear cut chances we are creating a quality striker would have a field day. Personally i don't think Gregory is the answer, he just doesn't score often enough and never really looks like scoring.

I think Gregory problem is confidence.its almost as though he'd rather pass the ball.even when not the best option, rather than shoot himself ,for fear of f###ing it up.
I'm sure he'll come good if he can get a couple.

We need more players for some strength in depth

If only we could discover a clinical and pacey finisher somewhere in the lower leagues because we fucking sure can't afford to by one

Cover at left back and left wing would be welcome

The difference is in prior years we have been desperate to strengthen the squad--we aren't now. I would like to see another midfield player..otherwise, baring injury I think we are good to go....COYL
Maybe when you are not desperate better options will be available.

It will be interesting to see what the yank does in January when the first bid
for young Aiden comes in. Will he hold or fold ?

We desperately need to sign a couple of players if we want to maintain a strong challenge. Another striker is essential. You cannot play your three main (only?) strikers every single game, without expecting them to become jaded, pick up a few knocks, or just need to be rested for a game. Apart from young Pavey there is no one else. Harris cannot change things from the bench as he had no real forwards there. Add the fact that Gregory for all his hard work, doesn't look like scoring and it is clear we need a few options. It's a small squad already suffering from knocks and injuries. As previously posted, signing in a position of strength is preferred to when you get in a crisis.

Hold onto our loanees. Shift Forde off the wage bill. Maybe a midfielder in on loan to cover bookings and injuries.
