Oh dear. And they nearly won it tonight right at the end.

But to be fair Walsall are a top side, so a draw is still a respectable result.

It's not nice That, Walsall teasing them, letting them think they've won only to burgle them at the end.

And they call us Smallwall...

Remember they're supposed to be boycotting and lots of them said they'd be doing aways only.

They talk nonsense as well - "Make no mistake about it, 263 for a midlands midweek away is millwall level support".

The only occasion we took less than that to an away game last season was the two Tuesday night away games at Rochdale and Port Vale. And both of those were before another away game on the Saturday, which many would have attended instead - indeed, 600 went to Walsall and 1,100 to Swindon.

Plus, factor in the fact that our away games are members only & all ticket.

Our away followings are good, especially considering the restrictions in place. We took 300 to Plymouth for a Tuesday night 3rd round Checkatrade game in 2015. So, for a Charlton fan to come out with that quote is quite silly.

Indeed, last season the comparison is thus:

Millwall average away following: 921 (with members only & all ticket restrictions)

Charlton average away following: 836 (no restrictions in place)

The more telling statistic & the one Millwall always do well in compared to all other FL clubs:

Percentage of home support as away support:

Millwall: 9.9% (with members only & all ticket restrictions)

Charlton: 7.5% (no restrictions in place)

Millwall are always around 8-12%.

Charlton are sometimes as low as 4%

BTW It is hard to truly test this statement:
"Make no mistake about it, 263 for a midlands midweek away is millwall level support".

Because the closest I could find to a midlands midweek away game in our most recent League One seasons is Burton Albion; where we took 490 on a Tuesday in December 2015. But, to be fair to us, Burton is harder to get to than Walsall!

We also took 500 to Fleetwood for a Tuesday night game in November 2015. But again, Fleetwood is far, far, far more difficult yo get to than Walsall.

In conclusion - that poster is talking shit.

Moody, if you were to go on Mastermind your 'chosen specialist subject' would have to be Charlton (any year, any facet)!
