Couple of seasons and that'll be Fred. 18+million

Fire - serious thought or tongue in cheek?

A bit of both I suppose, I suspect any player that shows a bit of potential in this division will attract interest. The big if's, Fred gets a run of games, the consistency comes and he does what he did against Leicester and a few others then yes.

I thought the Fred of last season was an improvement on the previous, if he goes again and we are somewhere near successful-mid table-his power and running even without that end product will have someone taking a punt.

I don't particularly rate Gray but he can tuck the ball away. Fred on the other hand is not clinical. There was Saturday's header miss and, although I didn't go, on Tuesday, in the highlights, he misses a one-on-one when it seemed easier to score. If he were finishing off opportunities on a regular basis it's possible he could become valuable but if he continues in his current vein I can see him slipping down the leagues.
