It's an interesting discussion on here & the Youtube videos.

There is nothing to lose in putting a player on the post for the next few games. Some the future free kick takers in this division will be international quality players.

Once other teams suss out what we are doing, it is up to them to introduce effective counter tactics.

Yes. That'll take all of 2.08 seconds.

International quality players play in Internationals and you don't see teams put defenders on the line in those, either. Bloody ridiculous.

Next you'll be coming out with dropping the Morison and Gregory for Fred and Elliott, who have never played upfront together.

Well other people have suggested a player on a post as well. Did you not notice a player on the post would have stopped Bolton's goal ?

Why would it take 2.08 seconds ?

Yes I did say yesterday Elliott & Fred should start tonight. But was wrong as both Gregory & Morison scored again, didn't they.

When defending a free kick, why not have all 11 players on the goal-line? Six spread across the goal-line itself and five more hanging from the bar. That should do it, especially as in that uniquely strange world of yours offside doesn't matter from free-kicks.

You are right: 2.08 seconds is a nonsense for a team to suss out the "Adam Theory", that piece of tactical genius mysteriously missing from every single football coaching manual ever produced. I actually meant .208 seconds.

Millwall scored three goals starting with Morison and Gregory - a commendable total at this level and usually enough to gain thee points, I'm sure even you might agree. So the front two must have been causing problems whether they scored or not. I suggest you look at the other end of the pitch where four goals on target ended in four goals conceded.

I just would have preferred a player to head the ball off the line, rather than for Bolton to score. So would several other Millwall fans if you watched the youtube videos.

You're view that it should be accepted that Archer won't move for any decent free kick & the fans should applaud a goal from another team is obviously correct. Why ? No other team apparently puts a player on the post. A team trying something different to prevent a goal ? How radical.

As I said I was wrong about playing Elliott & Fred up front. Morison & Gregory both scored again tonight.

premier league teams started putting someone on the line to stop payet last year to some effect

they dropped back last second as he was about the take the shot and it seemed to confuse him

he did not have an alternative planned and so shot any way

it can work if done well

Whisky says the club shouldn't try it as other clubs don't. If Archer or King can't reach a free kick, we have to accept a goal conceded.

Adam, do you absorb even the slightest atom of anything that is ever explained to you....?

Dealing with you borders on the surreal: like some Zombie rising from the football terrace and coming relentlessly at you, unable to understand what is going on around it.

"Player on the line. Elliott and Fred!!! Player on the line. Elliott and Fred!!!!" There is no stopping this thing.... You shoot at it with reason, logic and fact. But it all bounces off, or goes straight through. So still it comes..."Player on the line. Elliott and Fred!!!"...

Aarrrggghhhh!!!!

I am still in shock as to how he let that first goal in. It was a nothing shot from range directly at him. My nan would have stopped it and shes been dead for 20 years.

It seems that this fan believes it may be a good idea to not select Archer for the next game.

Actually Mama I rescind my question. I've just seen it from another angle from amongst Bolton in the north stand. Archer was actually in the middle of his goal and i don't think he really had any chance of getting anywhere near it. I was watching on ifollow and from that angle it looked completely different and that he should've had it covered - however i think the ifollow angle was deceptive.

"We have been decepted then!"

He's hardly going to give any defence confidence with his rash charges out and quite often being caught in no mans land, he pulls off decent saves now and then but his bread and butter keeping can leave a bit to be desired.

Lions TV made a good point. Saying Archer was not on his toes for Ipswich's 4th. Meaning when he did dive he hardly covered any ground.

Not sure how the presenter became a goalkeeping expert. But he had a point.

Just watched the highlights again for the first time, the first goal was the sort of thing forde did on a regular basis I do hope the archer has not caught that desese!
The other 3 were bad defending all round we basically have them 4 goals on a plate I'm really disappointed that we have only got 1 point out of nine when in fact we could easily have 9
