1-0 defeat away to the second or third strongest team in the league isn't terrible. It won't be what sends us down, if we go down. Maybe the dropped point at home to Bolton will. But I would still bet that Bolton, Brentford and Burton - with Barnsley - will finish below us. We do look thinnish upfront though. The midfielders score when we're bossing a game, but very hard for them to do so when we're not. We need a striker, simple as.

Harris must think the same if we made a late bid for that Fleetwood striker.

Maybe a loan?

However, the positive is we are the only club in the bottom half of the table with a plus goal difference. That reflects the fact that we haven't been out of our depth in this division. I actually think we will finish above Sunderland this season.

You would guess, Moody. A loan would do it. But it's possible, although maybe unlikely, that Elliott might do it. I do worry that we can't finish. Our best finishers are Ferguson and Hutchinson.

got a striker called elliot

if we don't beat qpr and who is to say we will , we then have leeds who are flying

no wins in those 2 and it is one win in 8 which is relegation form

harris says aob has to learn from today - so does harris- have more guts - change things earlier - we hardly threatened all game by all accounts - well take off aob on a yellow put on fred , risk losing a second goal - we can be terribly predictable - the oppo know exactly what they are getting

Clayton Donaldson scored twice for Sheffield United today. He was suggested over the summer but the response on here was negative. However he's good enough for Sheffield United & Birmingham.

Nothing wrong with making short term signings to help the club stay up.

Elliot can be as good as Donaldson - he has to be on the pitch to score though

3 away games no goals

Tuesday will be interesting - sounds like a hard game physically today - can he go with the same set up again

bottom line is that you normally have to win 14 games to stay in the division - some of those have to come away from home and we need to carry a bigger threat - we have to be prepared to lose in order to win

How Morrison and Gregory can be blamed for today's loss is beyond me, they got zero service. AOB s first yellow could of been a red and he should of been taken off straight after.as it was obvious the ref told him one more and your off. NH has to react quicker to these situations, especially as it was highly likely that Ferguson would replace him anyway. Saville wasn't in it either and I would of bought on Tunnicliffe at that point as well, replacing Wallace with Fred with 15 to go.

Wasn't there Leon so hard to comment mate, but our story this season so far has been a failure to take chances, especially the front two (or three if you include AOB). Agree with the points re Elliott.

so eliot is injured and not fit for Tuesday

no aob so only really fred can play up if we don't go with gregs and moro

got a lot of time for both but you have to be coldly objective how many defences at this level will morison trouble away from home when we play deeper - Harris said he wasn't going to play him Saturdays and Tuesdays but here we are

we can be competitive against any team in the division but to win on a regular basis you need match winners, like morison was 6/7 years ago - eliot may or may not be that players but he has to get a regular chance when fit again

agree lion.
my guess is that morison will continue to cope and things will change. wish harris would make subs sooner.

Suspect Elliott offers more than just goals. He only scored 6 goals in the 2015/16 season. But still played 44 times.

I've never knocked Morison, bit difficult really when he has been our talisman. Today he looked second best, ok the service may not have been there, he didn't trouble them enough with what ball he had.

Nobody knows yet if Elliot is it, he will need a run of games to find out. There is no doubt though his impact at Forest, Bristol and Ipswich was significant. That game time equates to 33 mins where caused panic mayhem, hit the post and scored one.

Personally i think today we should have had 5 in midfield i didnt expect to get anything from this game, but i feel we have to be less stubborn and realise we arent good enough to go away to some of these places with 2 up top.
