Random quote: Old_Lion_Les "Met this sprightly 78 year old widow down at the OAP's tea dance last Tuesday afternoonat the St Chrissakes Church Hall. Our eyes firs met when she woke me up with a cup of tea and wiped the dribble from my mouth with a scented tissue. She did flash me a glimpse of her blue bloomers and was making suggestive remarks - then said she'd buy my season ticket if I popped round one afternoon to service her cooker (I know what she really meant) Trouble is I ain't done it for 25 years. Any advice?" EverybodyKnowsUs "is it Gas or Electric ?"

We stayed in a Casa particular near the Hospital Hermanos Ameijeiras in Havana a few years ago.

Every now and again, a bloke over the road would come out into his garden, reach behind a Royal Poinciana for a bottle and take a quick swig.

Sometimes mates would call around; the same ritual of reaching behind the tree would be played out. We could see everything from our balcony.

Before we left I asked the woman of the house the reason the bloke hid a bottle of Rum in his garden - and was his wife on his case.

She said it wasn't Rum, it was surgical spirits from the local hospital, and that it was hidden in the garden incase the Police or CDR came, a-knocking.

They didn't even mix it wth Tu Kola!
