So no striker at all then ? We were 2 - 0 up against an average QPR side. Not having an outlet would have resulted in QPR camping in our half.

I would have used all 3 subs as it would be very tiring for the players. Fred for Morison, Tunnicliffe for a CM & either Romeo, Craig or Cooper replacing a full back or CB.

Yea we was 2-0 up lost any game we had in midfield when the ball was played out we had no one there to win it we did not need any more goals what we needed was more bodys & fight in there they just overrun us

There's no way any of the back four should have been taken off. They were superb and none of them were tiring.

When Harris removed Wallace and Fergie QPR were already camped in our half so taking them off made little difference there.

Our 2nd goal originated from a Wallace charge after a hoofed ball but can't remember anybody else other than Morison getting into QPR's half up to that point.

After the double substitution Tunnicliffe made a couple of charges forward to try and support Morison.

There was a case for Fred replacing Morison but I'm not sure if he has the equipment to be an effective lone striker and understand why Neil kept Morison on.

Harris couldn't have made a third substitution because Archer had been booked with 20 mins still to go & it wasn't impossible we might have needed to bring Martin on.
If NH made a mistake it was not taking Williams off who had been booked in the first half (I'll discuss that with Purley later) & who is ineffective in the backs to the wall stuff and who wasn't needed for his passing skills as we had no one to pass to! Williams should have come off for Tunicliffe and Wallace should have stayed right midfield

So would you have taken Williams off before or after his pass to Wallace for our 2nd goal?

Let's just agree to disagree. No point starting an Adam v Whisky type thread!!!!!

Purley, Harris made the substitutions after our second goal didn't he?
So that's what we are talking about here. It was when he changed the system Williams should have come off. He was on a booking so it was dangerous to leave him on & take Wallace off and Tunicliffe is best suited to sitting in the middle.
Not Williams fault as such but it wasn't rocket science (let's face it even Jimmy would do a better job faced with the onslaught last night)

I doubt that Archer would be daft enough to get booked twice in the same game for time wasting. How many times has that happened ? If later on he handled outside the area or committed a professional foul, isn't that a straight red anyway ?

Harris likes to keep the same formation no matter what. So to change it from 4 4 1 to a 5 3 1 formation with over 30 minutes left was surprising.

Other posters have said both Williams & Saville were below par. So Tunnicliffe replacing one of them seems sensible.

Fred for Morison, Wallace or Ferguson would have given QPR a new problem.

Romeo could have replaced McLaughlin after he was booked. Or Craig for Meredith if Meredith was struggling.

Cooper could have come on to make it 5 at the back for the final 5 - 10 minutes. Or simply replaced Webster or Hutchinson.

Anyway only Harris can make the decision on the night.
