My son showed me a still of the tackle.

Their bloke gets to the ball 1st and Gregory is around 18 inches away trying for a one-footed tackle, not two-footed as in the BBC report.

Certainly not malicious but can't see the FA overturning it.

Massive Reffing mistake that cost us 2 points yesterday and Gregory for 3 games :urgh:

"My son showed me a still of his tackle."

Steady-on, mate.

:nofinger:

Very good

How are these appeals conducted ?

Does the FA speak to the club & ref ? Can the red card be down graded to a yellow or is it simply kept or removed ?

I can't see the ref budging. He will say the tackle was late & went into the players body. The QPR player also laid still as if he was shot, although may have been milking it. So a certain yellow card.

The club's only chance is to prove it wasn't a studs up challenge.

Good question.

In the old days, Ted Croker and his mates would retire to The Swan on Bayswater Road and order a plate of Cheese and Pickle, washed down with a couple of Manns.

Address of hookers based in Half Moon Street would be exchanged, before moving on to "Any Other Business."

Brown envelopes containing used tenners would be passed around from Club Secretaries to Officials.

Everyone went home happy.

No chance of getting it overturned, if anything he will get an extra game for appealing.

Clearly, the appeal failed as there is a post on here says that he will serve a 3 game suspension. Nothing on the OS or NAD.

Well, they got the photo of Gregory wrong in the post, so maybe the length of suspension, too. Sadly, I suspect not....

Gregory's name does appear on the FA's list but I think this is pending an appeal which I assume is today?

East was far too hasty with his decision. It was a yellow card at the very most. I cannot see any reason for this appeal not to be rescinded.

Has the appeal already been submitted? If not, there's not much time left and I can't imagine a decision being made in time for Lee to play Saturday

The Millwall Legal Team are using Jock McTavish as a Yardstick.

Jock was sent off whilst playing for the Inverurie Locomotive Works during the match against Forres Thistle in the Archibald Cup,1928.

Jock was standing by the right-wing touchline, filling his pipe with Prince Albert Crimp Cut Shag, when the Referee ran over and sent him of for Ungentlemanly Conduct.

What Lee did was nowhere near as bad.

If precedent has anything to do with it then when Mane was red carded for the scousers it took a couple of days for the appeal to be heard and a verdict delivered.
It would make little sense for them not to consider it before Saturday. Otherwise Gregory might have served one match of the three match ban and then discover that the red card had been rescinded. I expect a verdict today.
