Well if you didn't know an answer and passed, someone would have
to explain to Mick what a pass was.

Surely you're not suggesting Clive Allen didn't spray 40 yard passes around in his midfield role at Millwall.

Fat useless wage thief. Was in the exec one day and saw him going into
the sponsers to get a MOM award. I asked Billy Neil if it was a joke ?
He said , regardless how he played, they wanted their pictures with him.
This was arranged before the game !

Allen would have been better as a 3 month end of season loan. If he scored a couple of goals in that period great. If not, no big deal.

However he cost 75k & was given an 18 month contract. Being well past his best, it was very unlikely he would contribute beyond the first 3 months. He wouldn't be good enough for the Premiership & wouldn't be motivated enough for a Championship side with a play off hang over.

The fans turned on him during the play off nightmare & he never put on a Millwall shirt again, due to a mysterious injury. Although he was fit enough to be a TV pundit at the same time Millwall were playing. Moonlighter.

Cottee was only a short term loan. Claridge was signed on loan at the same time & justified getting a contract later.

Big Mick signed Cadette on loan. Then signed him for 135k after he scored a couple of goals. One in the cup against a lower league club. Cadette then instantly got injured & rarely resurfaced. I'm sure no one saw that coming.

Tony Witter played like Colin Cooper during a 3 month loan & got his own song. Which shows how bad the other players were. However can't blame Big Mick too much for then splashing out 125k on him. Which QPR were happy to accept. But not sure about a 3 year contract for a 29 year old who had hardly played professional football. Witter went off badly after signing permanently.

Anyone remember Chris Wood?

Now, there was a player of considerable talent.
