Who will win the inaugural Ray Wilkins trophy for the most pointless possession? I haven't decided the rules yet, but I reckon a side that has more than 60% possession but fails to win by a clear two goals are definitely sideways c*nts.

What a coincidence, it was only last night on the way home I was asked by a fellow 'Wall what it was like to shag an oriental woman. And did it it go sideways?

My answer? Now that would be telling.....

no point moaning, fact is i hope all the teams we play, play the same as reading, we would win most of the games if that was the case

I beat China 26-0 on FIFA 98. They had 80% possession. I assume it was because they spent so much time picking the ball out of the goal.

Readings tactics were not a one off for this game.

Harris said in yesterdays SLP that Reading play a lot of sideways passes.

Playing possession football is fine. Providing you have explosive & skillful players in the final third who before you know what's hit you, the ball is in the back of the net.

Someone like Sergio Aguero or Aaron Ramsey would suit Reading.

Good luck in the next transfer window.

Hands down the worst team I've seen in years. Paired up with the worst bunch of officials I've seen since the home game against Leeds where the ref watched us score, then chalked it off to give us a penalty which we was destined to miss. Blatant cheat from the first whistle

Reading were 62%

Def the most negative team I have seen for a long time. They nearly had a nose bleeds when they accidently crossed the halfway line

According to the BBC Website Reading had 66% possession last night, but I'd love to know how much of that was in their own half!

It's one thing retaining possession and a totally different proposition using it well. Reading did the former and got nowhere near achieving the latter

Scouse c*nts had 68% possession and drew 1-1. Slightly more amenable Scouse c*nts lost 0-1 despite have 63% possession.

It seems that managers are beginning to cotton on how to defeat the Sideways phenomenon.

TD, are you advocating the universal embracement of the traditional Millwall tactic of one team deliberately kicking the ball to the opposition so they have more possession?

Well, sort of. It depends where they have that possession. If they have it in their own half and play sideways then I don't mind that. Reading did that. It would be good if we could keep the ball better, but that only comes with time and practice.

Sean Dyche's Burnley are showing that they can pass, they can stifle and they can go long if they need to. That's what I'd like to see. Keep our shape and keep the Sideways C*nts in front of us. Sometimes, I would like us to slow the game down and go a bit sidways ourselves especially when the other team are gaining momentum.

sounds like we should have done just that against Barnsley, side ways is fine when the oppo defends deep. But if you have lost the lead and oppo defends deep it's time for shenanigans and gamesmanship.
