Random quote: Funny i used to think this fella was an annoying wind up merchant here for attention, but now im starting to realize he is just a sad lonely middle aged drunk who comes here for company.- Hogeyman

I knew it was too good to last , Peace that is. Another P&M War has broken out . All I'll say is the only time I took the Reverend to Arment's I literally had to drag him out before he started a riot with the staff , accusing them of using cat meat and watering down the liquor . Must admit it wasn't good and the eels weren't much either - over-stewed. No, give me TBR anytime - I'll be slinking along on Friday for my usual 're-fuelling'.

Kev - what's your take on Tripe and Onions?

If manzes TBR was the only pie shop left then i would join kev in eating faggots, chips n gravy. TBR The pastry is to thick & the liquor is like piss no taste at all and the mash no better.

Pie and mash in all these places what a load of old shit and liquor is vile - reminds me of gangrene.

The best pies are what the other half makes and so is the best mash.

Always have it with some nice gravy.

No culture whatsoever you lot

I actually like normal pies, with mash and gravy and peas. But it’s a completely different meal to pie mash and liquor

Why is it that P&M always makes me think of Sweeney Todd?
Never liked the pies, and even worse with liquidised frogs.

The only good thing about Manzes was getting a penny each for jam jars when I was a kid.that's 4black jacks or a packet of chewing gum from the machines.

When I was a 'Nipper' I financed my visits to The 'Wall by collecting throughout the week R.White and any other Lemonade and Fizzy drink bottles, also Quart bottles of Brown Ale (was once very popular) and Light Ale, in fact any bottle that had a return value - so long as I could raise Ninepence I was in business and then once in gthe ground would collect up tea cups for gthe old girl in the tea bar at the CBL end - that could raise me Half a Cfrown on a good day and saved me walking home through the Rotherhithe Tunnel as could affgord a ride on 'The Rattler' to Shadwell , then Tuppence for the |Classified 'Star', across the road to dirty Sids for Sixpeneth of Chips and a Wally , then home - Yes, we lived life to the full in those bygone days
