Liveliest one I saw was with Arthur Scargil, Kenneth Baker, John Smith & Lib Dem - Baroness Seear.

Baroness Seear was criticising John Smith & Labour for a lack of unity. Scargill said 'she should know all about unity, at their party conference they couldn't even decide on their name'.

Kenneth Baker claimed the recent Labour conference had been stage managed & said 'certainly not' when it was suggested the Conversatives knew something about stage managing.

Not heard much from him recently, but before i left i was quite impressed by reese mog. I know hes an upper class wanker but when i saw him on question time before he appeared really very sharp and made some of the others look like complete idiots. All politicians are cunts but better an intelligent cunt than a thick cunt.

I think that's his strength that he is a toff but his not like the other toffs pretending his got a bit of working class in him. Don't think he will ever be PM though due to his position on abortion but fair play his given up his chances to stick with his principles.

I don't think there has been a Catholic PM to date. Blair came close to it, going to communion and all that and then converted after leaving office.

Mog could become PM as there is no rule against it, would be interesting to see how he got on with the DUP in a minority government.

At least he has a backbone and is not afraid t say what he thinks, a quality that has been lacking in all our PMs since Thatcher.

The liberals and left wing luvvies will not be happy when he becomes PM.

It's interesting to see that even the lefties listen to what he has to say. They might not like it, but they respect that he is a man of principles that he can articulate.

The first time ever Rees-Mogg was mentioned on MO was 18th December 2015 when I wrote this:

Would that be Jacob Rees-Mogg, the well-spoken son of the former editor of the The Times?

Old Etonian, I think, and absolutely the sharpest knife in the Conservative drawer. Don't have tv, but when he's on Radio 4 you can guarantee he will slice his opponents to bits with lazer precision wit and ruthlessness while always keeping a smile in his voice. Good value for money in a debate.

I think he has Benn's pinched, austere features if memory serves.

All that said, forgive me if it was someone else entirely!

Two years on, I'd love to see Rees-Mogg as PM, Andrea Leadsom as Chancellor (some very serious intelligence and backbone there; oh, and Leadsom is now exactly same age as when Thatcher became PM) and Boris as Foreign Secretary.

Now that really would be interesting....

I could not agree more. Wow what a line up and for once some people that might look after their own people interests before others. (But I wouldn't put my house on it though)

We are supposed to be a working class club with working class
values, yet some on here are creaming their pants over the
possibility of a posh, rich, chinless wonder educated at Eaton
becoming PM, WTF !
