Random quote: In the dark shadows of history deep-seated on Cold Blow Lane lay legends of lost civilization who's ghosts rolled with the power of gods. From such a place come forth the present day terrace royalty.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching We Was All One - thanks ww. Brought back some memories and makes me a bit sad when you think about what has happened to our country and our people. You watch that film and you can see why that bastard Hitler couldn't bomb us into submission. Nowadays all half of London wants to do is tell everyone how terrified they are of terrorists or complain they aren't getting enough welfare benefits.

Do schools still do Harvest Festival?

I confess I had a tear in the eye watching that. And not just from laughter.

I suspect I won't be the only one....

Thanks for posting WW. Certainly brings back memories, both funny and sad...

The 80’s doco about the OKR is a decent watch as well.

Yes, they were all one.
My dad was a Lighterman, of course that all came to an end during the latter part of the 60's.
He was made redundant. It took him a while to get over it, he really loved the job and all the camaraderie that went with it. One of his brothers was also a lighterman. Then from my mum's side, I had two uncles who were also Lightermen.

On match days they would congregate and stand over near the dug outs (before the lower seats went in). I remember being passed over the turnstiles in those days before some old miserable got the hump, my dad wanted to kill him, so did most of the others in the queue behind.
