Yes. I saw that. They need scraping across the face with a cheese grater. But using the side of the cheese grater which is usually used for lemons etc. Dumb midlands special needs window lickers. God, I hope we win this. We're due an away win.

Deano said in commentary that they had one shot all game, whereas Gregory hit the bar and we had one disallowed for offside.

Sounds like we were lucky not to get thrashed, as expected by the Villa fans

Cold blow, i am on train back to Euston and I can honestly say we was never in any danger of losing.
Villa was powder puff in front of goal and our defence had one of the easiest rides of the season so far.
Organised and solid, Hutch and Co. Had them by by the balls.
Special mention to AOB who worked his nuts off, as did all of them.

Yes, but here's the thing. We keep doing this. We keep almost winning away from home. But I can't remember a longer period without an away win. Even in 2005 we beat Watford and I think Cardiff. We need more points way from The Den. We need to take chances.

We are still in the transitional stage of where we want to be.
From the dross we were being served up a couple of seasons ago, what Neil Harris and the backroom staff have achieved is nothing less than miraculous, we the fans just have to be a bit more patient (which is difficult) and as long as we all stick together we will get there.
The whole club seems very stable and singing from the same hymn sheet.
Onwards and upwards.
COYL.

We couldn't have done anymore today monkey. We had several chances, especially gregory, but wouldnt say any were bad misses... It just didnt quite go in. Yes on paper another away game without a win... But morally we thrashed Villa. I know that doesnt give us 3 points but if we can replicate todays effort and performance we will win away and do it more than occasionally. Im definitely glass half full than half empty on todays performance.

Ok KotJ, I wasn't there. Point taken as well. There's a real gap opening up in the bottom third, though: if only we could win a couple away from home. Not criticising at all because if you'd said to me nil all draw away to Villa leaving us above QPR I'd have taken it, in August.

Didn't see the first 15 minutes but we did have a couple of opportunities that should have been buried. Wallace through one-on-one with the keeper only had to pass the ball to one of the goal stanchions (ala Jimmy Greaves) and we would have been one up.

Also, Gregory appeared to be caught in 2 minds whether to shoot or pass, delayed the latter and it was too late for Wallace to check his run and his goal was rightly cancelled out for offside.

Rate this our 2nd best away performance of the season after Forest, but 8 blanks in the 9 away games I've seen suggests we do have a major scoring problem that needs to be addressed. I've suggested this before but I really do believe we would benefit from getting a guest coach to take some attacking training sessions with the squad. We've got to instill greater composure, not only in the front players, but in the midfielders who also snatch at chances and rush passes in the final third.

Not that long ago, actually Monkey...

Between 21st Sept 2013, when we won, naturally, at Charlton 1-0 and 8th March 2014 when we defeated Derby County by the same scoreline at Pride Park, we went 12 League away games without victory.

It was a painful period: we mustered only three draws and lost 9, scoring 8 goals in the process and conceding 29.
