Actually Whisky, the original Crystal Palace was in Hyde Park I think.
It was then Moved to South London and as there is no way of knowing
if the whole of it was transferred, or bits and pieces, we're call it

Indeed, it was.

Had a curious history. Basically, it was built on the cheap - had to be able to go up and come down quickly for the Great Exhibition.

So when it ended, it was reassembled a few years later at a permanent, far less important place: Sydenham Hill. And Palace have been making an exhibition of themselves ever since...

Of mild interest to you Whisky, after the construction but prior to the exhibition opening they had a real problem with sparrows flying and crapping everywhere. Albert asked the prime minster what to do? Who asked the Duke of Wellington, who introduced sparrow hawks, simples.

And indeed Crystal Palace has been having problems with watching shit and getting the bird ever since...

Oh, and don't talk to me about bloody sparrowhawks. I've had three resident in my garden this year - and been actually attacked by two of them...!!!

Wasn't the name Crystal Palace a bit of a satire from Punch magazine at the time on the great exhibition?

Hi whiskey be interested to know more on your sparrowhawk problem, the rspb seem to think they are wonderful creatures when actually they are pure evil, destroying our song bird population.im involved in a hobby/sport which these birds have a devastating effect on.
