Apparently a fee has been accepted 700,000 + 150,000 add ons. Source close to the Southend camp. If this is true do we really need him? I would much rather the money be invested on a striker.

A lot of money, where would he play and who would he replace?

Personally, I'd prefer us trying to get a naturally left-footed player who can defend and attack to play LM. This would give us a more balanced team and, hopefully, give us more options moving forward.

He's out of contract in the summer, cant see us laying out that sort of dough. We offered 500k last august & they turned it down & we moved on, so I'd be amazed if we went back with more, especially when we're so light in other areas.

That would be a waste of money rated 11 on the Goddard scale. He's not exactly setting league one alight is he.

Makes more sense than £700k + £100k add-ons.

Didn't Harris say the other day we would only be looking at loans? Prices are too over the top for our budget at this time of year.

I don't think our inability to win away is down to our midfield, it's Neil's tactics. Fair enough yesterday there might have been some tired legs etc but with the exception of the QPR and Forest games we've never been close to winning the other away games because most of the time the ball has been, in the main, lumped forward in hope we would get a favourable nod on for somebody to tuck away.

If you hadn't been sunning it up in Dubai, you would have noticed that we have a striker. Morison is banging them in***.

There's no deniying Neil's admiration for the player. I heard Sheffield United had also bid 700,000 perhaps the player wants to stay in the south? I personally can't see where he fits in though. With Tunnie, Williams, Saville and Thompson already fighting for a place in CM it does beg the question. Perhaps Thompson will go out on loan?... For that kind of money you would expect him to be a first team regular.

Seen him play, very good player at league 1 level.
Would be a good signing,. Can’t stand still in the championship. We have to improve every transfer window.

Its not so much the buying price? Surely a bigger problem for a club bringing in a new player is how much he will be costing a week and how the wages fit in with our players who have just signed contracts. Should he be on Morisons wages or Gregorys or Freds ? massive problem for NH to get his head around.

Back for the Christmas break. Watched Wolves and QPR down The Den and going Barnsley on Saturday. Don't you worry whilst sunning it up in Dubai I always manage to watch The Lions thanks to that shadow of shite Ifollow!
