if that was a near full strength team, that was a poor performance defensively - even before the sending off we opened them up with ease - we played alright, but they were second rate - the no 12 Cavare was hopeless - he played leftback first half and right back second half

the no 16 Pinnock was quick enough - i see he was at Dulwich - faster than gregory and Twardek - got a bit to learn about defending though

that was a nice confidence booster with 3 tough games ahead

midway lion - 6/1/2018 22:00

A very strong return to form from the Lions. Having shook the team up
it was always going to be interesting. After our bright opening, Barnsley
started to go through us like a knife through butter and it looked like
another Norwich turn-out. Craig was caught in no-mans land and a lucky
deflection gifted them an opener. We then started to apply ourselves and
a great Craig tackle was the catalyst. We even had the luxury of Wallace
missing two open goals ! We took control 15 minutes before half-time and
were totally dominant in the second. It's funny how many Wall deride tippy
tappy football, but when we started doing it the sparse crowd loved it.
Martin......7.......Superior to Archer in his distribution.
McLaughlin....7....An excellent right-back.
Hutch..........7.....Another good display.
Cooper......7......If he can start scoring from corners , we will struggle to keep him.
Craig.......Nightmare 1st 25 minutes, improved there after.
Wallace.....6......A bizarre game of good & bad, two bad misses and the crowd
singing and clapping him off.
Thommo.......8.....Just got better and better as the game progressed. Beats me
how teacake keeps him out of the team.M.O.M.
Williams......7......Still the best keeper/passer of the ball at the club.
A.O'B..........7......Lets hope he goes on a scoring run now.
Fred.........7.....Much improved showing which won over a lot of the Upper-West
by the end.
Morrison.....6......Couldn't find his passing boots 1st half, improved 2nd.
Subs.......6
Manager.....7...Fair play for changing it today, will he have the nerve to change
it again or was he just putting the frighteners on a couple of them.

So a few of them, most notably AOB and Thommo have made strong claims for a starting place in there favoured position for the next game, taking into considerations Bombers anger with the Norwich second half.

Guaranteed, Thommo will be on the bench, AOB wide left.

We need a new left winger!

Surely he wont.
Decent game from Thompson on Sat , but he is still 4th choice midfielder.

IF a player, any player comes in and does well, they should retain their place, especially after an awful performance fro the first team, that's called taking your opportunity.

If players who perform well don't get a chance to extend their place in the starting line up, whats the incentive?
