If anything the Beatles would play down their instrumental skills. Ringo is barely hitting the drums here while the others are just goofing about.

Noel Gallagher called this 'the greatest song ever' !

No Jack leads, a tambourine banging away, a Tom fill on a Snare Drum ?
Don't you just love a good mime...It was a promo video.

They did a lot of them back in the day (as did many groups).

Prefer this to the released song. Don't know if it was done in one take. Either way it highlights their talents.

they were no more than average as regard to playing their instruments.
for scouse maggots make me laugh they rant and rave how wonderful their beatles were and that they are liverpool boys, well the hubcap robbing cunts could not get out of liverpool quick enough. paul lives in fucking East sussex, mind you i would not let my dog live in liverpool let alone humans.anyway, fact is the beatles were overrated shit, the stones, the kinks, the who, moody blues all far superior to those scouse cock lovers.

John didn't even want to be England. Living the last 10 years of his life in New York & going on exotic holidays. One reporter asked him when he was going back to England, John just said 'what's the hurry ? it's not going anywhere'.

McCartney says him & Lennon had secretly planned to go into an English studio in 1980, just before his death. Which is surprising. Fred Seaman, John's PA, said McCartney sent John a good luck telegram in 1980 after John had had started recording again. Yoko hid the telegram fearing John may invite McCartney to their New York recording studio.

I suppose the charmer Paul could have got in contact with Lennon in 1980 & arranged something.

McCartney agrees he last saw Lennon in 1976. But says they were having phone chats in 1980 about their children & pets. Which is nice, but didn't they now have their own new, different friends in & out of the music business to chat to ?

One rumour is Yoko contributed to McCartney's 1980 drugs bust. McCartney had rang Lennon to offer him some 'great weed' & told him that him & Linda were shortly going to stay in a specific hotel room. This upset John & Yoko as that was their favourite room. Yoko may have tipped off the authorities as Paul was arrested shortly afterwards. Rumour has it Yoko later asked them to be lenient on Paul, which contributed to his light sentance.

Talking of instruments, could Bowie play any ?

He always had a backing band when playing live. People like Nile Rogers, Reeves Gabriel & Mick Ronson being his virtuoso guitarists.

Yoko was Japanese, McCartney was busted in Japan.

Yoko didn't need contacts to bust McCartney. It just needed a phone call. However she may have had contacts to ensure he got off lightly. McCartney being a multi millionaire would have also helped.

Just read this on Bowie -

Yes he was a multi instrumental player. He played on every album except Lets Dance from memory. He played guitar passably well, and did so on most albums and all his tours. He played keyboards and again frequently did so on albums and on on his Heroes tour. He also played keys in Iggy Pop’s touring band in the 70s. He started as a jazz saxophonist and plays on many tracks.

He used some great musicians including great guitarists like Mick Ronson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Earl Slick and Carlos Alomar to name a few. He used some fantastic pianists like Roy Bitterne and Rick Wakeman. While they were obviously far superior musicians (Bowie was a writer, performer and artist ) he was certainly of a musical standard to write and explain what he wanted from them.

here s what gasron said
‘I’ve worked with a thousand singers, but he was so far above everybody else’ … pianist Mike Garson in the studio with David Bowie in the mid-1970s.
