I remember when Speedie was a replacement keeper.

I think he was playing for Coventry at the time. Not the sort of outfield player you'd expect to be put in goal.

What about the Yids Keeper Eric Thordsthedt (?) Erik the Viking, now there was a bloke who didn't have a clue what was going on.

Very true 59.

Does anyone remember that South American keeper that played for Cambridge (I think), He had blondish curly hair and the more abuse we gave him, the angrier he got throughout the game.

Yes, it was against Coventry and to be fair to him he played a blinder in goal and didn't concede, we were 3 -0 up when he went in goal, until Ian Dawes put a 25 yard free kick past him in the last minute.

Tony Norman, Thats the chap!

I also remember in the old days when free speech existed, we gave it to Garth Crooks (Stoke City) big time.

The other person (not a player tho) to leave The Den traumatised was that Gillingham no good scumbag crap commontater Brian Moore.
They used to put a temp scaffold up in the Half Way stand and the boys spent the whole game shaking it. Fkin funny!!!

Paul Birch was the funniest ever, he switched flanks but the abuse continued from the south stand, then he got substituted. The woohoos were a common sound for the glut of players with long blond curly hair, I also remember Ian Holloway getting a bit ruffled by it. Ian Bishop and Trevor Morley was another funny one.
