Probably one of my favourite seasons, doing Chelsea 3-2 at their place. The fun on the district line afterwards ;-)... Anyone remember the bonfire to keep us warm in the away end ?
Kusack was an unsung hero that season.

Agreed Lindsay Smith played his part, as did all of them. No bertie Big Bollox that season, George Graham must be on of the best managers we had.

Great season, still rate George Graham the best manager we've ever had.

Anton, the most skilfull player and Bremner the most committed i've seen.......happy days.

Great time to be a 'wall supporter....you could enjoy a pint, peanuts, and a decent burger on the terracing. No worries about membership or getting tickets....and you could chant, shout and abuse whatever you liked, without fear of getting banned. Changing ends at half time.....it was a heaven.

The bonfire was awsome!! Speedy missing the penalty. I remember walking out of Fulham Broadway, a bit worried as there was loads of "heavies" all over the place, I still had my Millwall pin badge on wondering if maybe I should have taken it off - when a huge and I mean huge MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII rang out, boy was I happy. Didn't see ANY chelsea at all on the way to the geound. Millwall completley took over

84 -85 was the 3rd year I started going regularly every home game and a few away. Chelsea & Luton away are memories that last forever.

As for the burgers Andover, they were fukcing horrible. A pint in the Crown before the match was my Saturday start - or P&M at Arments.

I used to get one at the back of the CBL, or a jumbo sausage with onions. I thought they were alright.....maybe you got yours from the Hot Doggy Doggy Man outside.

I bought one burger from the Hot Doggy Doggy Man outside and learned a valuable lesson to never buy food from a man with filthy black finger nails!

Did anyone actually ever eat those roast horse-chestnuts or where they just ammo to throw at the away players??!!

Paul Samsome against Leicester in the cup was legendary. Rock hard pitch yet he threw himself around to deny Linekar, Alan Smith etc.. then two goals from Fash and Alan McCleary sent us through. 16k + at the Old Den that night and freezing cold but what an atmosphere!! :comeonwall:

No, but they were good for warming your hands up on a cold night.

Leferne, do you think the Hot Doggy Doggy Man, was the Peanut Man in disguise?

I can't really comment Andover as I don't eat peanuts. Did the peanut man have black fingernails, cough a lot, have snot running down from his nose and stink of BO? If so, there's a good chance he was one and the same!

Don't think so leferne........he did have a bit of a stoop having to carry his heavy sack of nuts, but it could have been part of the disguise.

I used to love them Pringle jumpers. Once i paid about £80 for one which was a fortune then. I bought it a few weeks before we played Portsmoth. Then got it ripped of my back when about 50 of us tried to ambush them walking to New Cross.
