I'll never forget seeing that poor old fella with his head bandaged up.

Alot worse at the time in colour.

I remember it well. At the end of the game i found myself on the pitch along with a few hundred other's. The commisionaire (posh name,or wot) was ushering the player's quickly off the pitch & down the tunnel. I just run with the player's & found myself in the dressing room area. I looked around & saw a chap i knew Steve H. we went into the Ipswich dressing room, there player's were all internationals but they just sat there chatting away to us & they signed our progs. The dressing room was so small, like something a sunday morning football team would encounter. We then went upstairs to the player's bar area & had a beer with both sets of player's. I was chatting to there winger,Clive Woods, when there manager Bobby Robson came in with a face like thunder & just said "right on the coach, now"Woods gave me his beer & they left straight away.Good job they won 6-1 & didn't lose. The good old days.If you got into the player's area now you'd end up with a life ban !!!!!!!! The Ipswich team ---nice bunch of gezzers who went onto win the cup that year

I was there. I hated Paul Mariner for years.
