I have just got back from driving 60 miles to give an Ebayer a smack. My daughter thinks i need medical help but i am 100% sure i am right. So i ask the millwallonline users to be the judge. I was selling jigsaw puzzles. Basically i can take any picture and make it into a jigsaw puzzle. I was selling them for 99p + £1 postage. They cost me 35p and 61p for postage + 30p for the jiffy bag to send them in. Ebay take 12p commission so it is a waste of time unless i can sell hundreds. I have had dealings with paypal in the past so i know how unreliable they are. When someone buys i send an invoice telling them to pay by cheque/BACS/Postal Order or Cash directly into my bank account. I offer paypal only to overseas buyers with no other way of paying. But 99.9% of people ignore this and pay with paypal. I get charged 27p commission which means that between them Ebay and Paypal are making more than me, just because people can't be arsed to do a bank transfer. I got fed up with this and put the postage up to £2 to cover fees. Now i send an invoice offering a £1 discount for anything except paypal payments. Some northern c**t left me negative feedback and accused me of ripping him off. I told my daughter i was going to see him and i left early this morning. When i got there the no good c**t chit himself. I gave him a few smacks and explained the situation. I believe i did the right thing but my daughter thinks i have a mental problem and i need psychiatric help. Serious opinions please.

I think a 120 mile round trip warranted more than just a few slaps.

If it's causing you so much hassle, why do it?

I have always wondered why people bother to sell things at Ebay for a quid. It's hardly worth the hassle. If you calculate all the time it takes and the expenses you would probably find yourself working for 20p an hour.

I have sold things on ebay but only when i expected to make at least a tenner.

1) Surely the round trip cost more than the postage?

2) Huddy Lion uses something else... he's complained about paypal for ages - maybe ask him about alternatives.

Huddy uses ebid.
It's not as big as ebay so you end up selling to less people.

Very funny.

How many puzzle pieces do you make the picture into and does this have a bearing on the cost?

If you're going to make a sh!t post at least make it an original one.

I wonder what happens if one of the pieces gets lost in the post.
